It’s rare for a couple from a dating game show to stand the test of time, but Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae seemed like the exception. Meeting on the British reality show Love Island in 2019, their chemistry was instant. After the show, their romance flourished, culminating in an engagement last July. They became the poster couple for the show, a symbol of lasting love.

However, their picture-perfect love story has come to a sudden, shocking end. Fury and Molly-Mae have mutually called off their engagement, leaving fans in disbelief. The longest-standing couple from their season, who seemed destined for a fairytale ending, have chosen to part ways.

The couple remains tight-lipped about the reasons behind their breakup, but hints of turbulence had surfaced over the years. Fury and Molly were quite serious about each other. So much so, that the couple welcomed their first baby together in January 2023. The couple revealed the news in a joint Instagram post, where the duo was seen smiling as Fury was holding their baby girl Bambi in his arms. Marking the day of the bay’s birth, Molly captioned the photo, “23/01/23”.

On her Instagram story, Molly wrote, “Becoming your mum has been the best thing to ever happen to me… it doesn’t seem possible but my love for you grows with each passing moment. “Becoming your mum has been the best thing to ever happen to me… it doesn’t seem possible but my love for you grows with each passing moment.” 

Even though the couple have called it quits, they have both vowed in their message to their fans, that the baby would be their priority.

An end to their 5-year relationship!

On Aug. 14, Molly Mae announced that she had decided to end her relationship with Tommy Fury. A statement she posted on her Instagram story read, “After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way.”

She thanked her fans for showing the couple love in the last five years. Furthermore, she urged people to “respect her privacy” as she navigates through a difficult period in her life. “I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter,” Mae further wrote on her Instagram story.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Tommy Fury also put out a story on Instagram stating, “I am heartbroken to share that Molly & I have decided to end our relationship. The past 5 years have led us to having our beautiful baby girl Bambi & I will be forever thankful to Molly for making me a dad. Bambi is our priority.” Fury too asks for “privacy” as he attempts to cope with his heartbreak.

However, there are speculations abound about what might have caused the breakup.

Rumors are in the air!

Shockingly, the couple split in less than a month after celebrating the anniversary of their engagement. But, now Tommy’s red flags are resurfacing on the internet. Let’s start with the Youtube video in 2023 where Mae revealed that she feared Tommy was cheating on her because he was being very protective about his phone. “My mind did somersaults, I thought, ‘Why is he shady about his phone who is he talking to?” she said. At that time, Mollie felt like she was in “a sad movie.”

Meanwhile, in 2022, Molly wrote a memoir – Becoming Molly-Mae: Finding Happiness in an Online/Offline World, where she divulged that she had issues with him drinking. She stated that even though he drank “few times a year”, she had “anxiety around alcohol”, and would “lose it at him” as she hates it.

It must be noted that the couple split months after Tommy was seen partying with another woman at a nightclub in Dubai in August 2023 while Mae was taking care of the baby. After the incident, the 25-year-old influencer was seen without her engagement ring sparking rumors about her breakup. She later clarified in December 2023 that they were still together.
