Eddie Hearn has admitted that Anthony Joshua would absolutely ‘’butcher’’ Deontay Wilder should the two face each other shortly.

Speaking to Boxingscene, Hearn said:
“Joshua-Wilder’s still an amazing fight, still very dangerous for Anthony. But now, I just think Joshua would absolutely butcher him. But again, still a very exciting fight. I just think that whole thing Deontay had, as well as the punch, was that you have to be careful. And Fury just went in and said, ‘I’m not gonna bother being careful and slap you around.’ But Wilder was terrible.”

Eddie Hearn’s analysis is not wrong. Wilder truly got slapped around from the very first round and hardly landed any significant punches. He seemed defenseless throughout the fight and was unable to land anything significant.

Despite this prediction, a fight between the two is interesting. Joshua vs Wilder is one of the greatest possible potential fights no one seems to be talking about. Both fighters have a loss each moreover, Wilder’s superhuman power and AJ’s technical skills ensure a very interesting fight.

Deontay Wilder is coming off one of his worst performances with his perfect record getting destroyed just like he did during the fight.

Anthony Joshua bounced back from one of his worst performances defeating Andy Ruiz jr. in December. Both fighters have a lot at stake with the trilogy and a mandatory fight next in line for Wilder and Joshua.

Anthony Joshua a bigger threat to Deontay wilder?

Anthony Joshua provides a similar challenge to Wilder with his technical skills similar to the Gypsy King’s. His stiff jabs, powerful uppercuts, and clean hooks will cause a lot of problems given Wilder’s unorthodox style.

Deontay Wilder, on the other hand, knows how to apply pressure and his knockout power is devastating. The fact he can change a fight with just a single punch is a testament to his unique ability.
