The last few days have been somewhat chaotic for Gervonta Davis. Firstly, he stunned the fans by furiously claiming that his upcoming fight against Lamont Roach Jr. was ‘canceled’. Fans might have had their reservations about the fight, but they were eager to see ‘Tank’ back in action. However, the Baltimorean later revealed that his story was nothing but a rage fit, and he is even excited for the fight. Things turned interesting when Tank uploaded a picture of himself in a new hairstyle.

The new look featured the Baltimore native in a ponytail rather than his signature braided hairstyle. The picture showcased Davis’s renewed zeal for the fight. While some fans loved the new ponytail, others were not a big fan of it and they let Tank know about it. In one such interaction, Tank engaged in an online spat with a fan and threatened to knock him out over a controversial remark.

Gervonta Davis threatens a fan over social media

On Monday, an ‘X’ user ‘Jay’ posted a screenshot of Gervonta Davis’ post on his profile with the caption, “Yea he sweet😭😭,” claiming that Tank has gone soft. The picture featured the Baltimore native sitting on a couch in his home in his new hairstyle. Furthermore, the ‘X’ user was directly taking a dig at the 30-0 boxer’s new hairstyle which makes him look far less threatening than before.

The insult did not sit right with Davis as he fired back and wrote, “You know like I know..I will break your face if you would ever say that to me in person,” threatening the fan. Davis was seething with anger as he further added, “Ask Richardson homeboy,” referring to the momentary beef he had with Richardson Hitchins a few months ago.

The beef with Hitchins started after the Edgar Berlanga vs Canelo Alvarez fight where Berlanga called out both Tank and Hitchins after the fight. It was a surprising spat as Hitchins has been Baltimorean’s training partner for a long time. However, the 29-year-old denied any personal connection with Hitchins and openly challenged him to a fight. The beef died down when Hitchins chose not to engage in the online back-and-forth.

However, even this fight suffered a lot of stumbles as it was initially slated for December 14 at Houston’s Toyota Center. However, the fight was postponed twice before PBC rescheduled the fight to March 1 at Barclays Center in New York. Furthermore, the biggest shocker came when Davis announced that he was fed up with the sport and would hang up his gloves before 2026.

It looked like ‘Tank’ was losing steam for the sport which will affect this match as well.
