There has been an age-old debate plaguing the boxing community for decades. Is speed better than power? Does Muhammad Ali’s lightning-fast hands triumph over Mike Tyson’s ferocious blows? While there is no efficient way of getting an accurate answer, it doesn’t stop people from picking one over the other. Something similar happened on social media that has taken the internet by storm.

Recently, Top Rank took to Instagram, posing the same age-old question to their devoted followers. They wrote, “Give us your take. What wins fights: Speed or Power?” So, when the boxing world came upon the post, unsurprisingly, a battle of opinions took over the comments section.

One user didn’t pick Speed or Power. The user chose timing and precision, claiming timing triumphs over speed and the latter beats power. “Timing beats speed. Precision beats power,” wrote the user.

The next user echoed a similar opinion, but instead of timing, the user chose talent. The user commented, “Talent beats everything and everyone.”

Someone else combined both speed and power, claiming speed is power, potentially suggesting speed is superior. The user wrote, “Speed is Power!”

Another user opted for speed while using Amir Khan as an example. “Speed got Amir Khan pretty far with a glass chin. Lol. He put down Madonna one time,” remarked the user.

One user didn’t go for speed, power, timing, or talent! This user suggested boxing IQ beats everything else. “Speed and power will get you to certain level, but IQ will get you to top,” the user wrote.

Since the debate is between Speed and power, a trilogy between two formidable fighters could potentially answer the question.
