Recently, the WBC heavyweight king, Tyson Fury, was in a chat with The Ring Digital. Here, he addressed this juncture, and revealed why Mike Tyson played a pivotal part in Holyfield’s stint.

“Great fighter. Obviously, he’s remembered for beating Mike Tyson twice. I think an underrated fighter to be fair. Because without Mike Tyson, without the likes of Mike Tyson, Holyfield wouldn’t even be talked about, I don’t think. Even though he was a great fighter, Mike Tyson’s fame brought him into the limelight more,” said Fury.

Holyfield broke into fame after he pulled off an upset by beating ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ in 1996. Later, in 1997, the pair met each other again and this time, fans expected Tyson to turn the tide in his favor.
