Unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is set to take on compatriot and Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard in a FIFA 21 battle. The superstar athletes will compete against each other in a charity e-sports program hosted by ‘Gamers without Borders’. Both Joshua and Lingard are playable characters in the game.

Despite being a boxer, Anthony Joshua has found his way in the EA UFC 4 and EA FIFA video games. So, Joshua will share the soccer greens with Jesse Lingard in the virtual world. Although the event takes place as a charity, both athletes have expressed their desire to win.

Anthony Joshua posted a picture on his social media and wrote, “Watch Me Smoke Jesse Lingard”.

Meanwhile, Lingard fired shots from his end. While the collision would be virtual, FIFA is still Jesse Lingard’s stable. Hence, ‘The Red-Devil’ didn’t let Joshua overpower his confidence. He promoted the matchup from his official account.

Lingard wrote, “So Anthony Joshua thinks he is the king of the ring and FIFA. Well! I am gonna show him June 21 at 11:30 A UK time as part of the world’s biggest charity e-sports festival”

As mentioned, the revenue from the event would be for social service. Gamers without Borders is a massive global e-gaming community. It has already accumulated and served $US 10 million for global vaccine distribution, per its social media handle. While Joshua continues to expand his name in the e-game world, it also nourishes his stardom.

‘AJ’ has never competed in a pro-MMA bout or a pro-soccer game. However, his immense popularity has urged video game company EA to put him inside the UFC and FIFA games. ‘AJ’ is a playable character in both versions. He shares the privilege with WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, who is also a character in the EA UFC 4.
