The Joshua-Fury mega-fight has stalled a little after the initial weeks of hype. Despite reports suggesting that both parties had agreed on the terms, there is still no official announcement. However, Eddie Hearn has now teased fans by suggesting a live signing.

The Matchroom promoter spoke to the AK & Barak Show on DAZN and said, “Yea, we could do that. [sign the contract live] I just can’t tell you when that’s going to be. So we’ll have to give you a heads up.”
This comment showed the belief Hearn has about the fight happening. Generally, fighters sign contracts and then announce it since a bout could fall through even at the last second. However, the English promoter seems confident that the deal will be official.
But, the comment also highlighted the issue that Hearn himself does not know when they will sign the contracts.

Eddie Hearn says he expected to receive a signed contract from Tyson Fury’s team
The promoter’s comments will bring relief to fans who had their doubts after Tyson Fury’s pessimistic approach to the fight. Furthermore, Hearn also gave an update on the negotiations and where the two parties stand at the moment.
He said, “We actually expected to get this signed contract back last week, to be honest with you. So, I don’t… Again, I don’t feel like there’s any horseplay going on or anything like that.”
Thus, Hearn is not worried about any disagreements, despite not getting the contract back when expected.

Therefore, fans can get their hopes back up after these comments from Eddie Hearn. Bob Arum also explained the behavior of Tyson Fury and put it down to his impatience. Thus, the promoters have confirmed that the fight is still as close as first suggested.
What do you make of these comments from the Matchroom MD? Do you think they should sign the contract live?
