WOW! Jermall Charlo Retains WBC Gold in a Back and Forth War against Sergiy Derevyanchenko

Jermall Charlo has defended his WBC middleweight title with an impressive performance over Sergiy Derevyanchenko in the Charlo Doubleheader.

While Charlo had to dig deep to claim the victory, he left no doubt about his in-ring dominance. Going for all the 12 rounds, Jermall Charlo and Sergiy Derevyanchenko went on a war with each other.

Although it appeared to be a close contest, Charlo had an upper hand throughout the fight. Moreover, he landed prominent shots as the fight went deeper, gaining an upper hand in all three of the judges’ scorecards. Registering the thirty-first win of his pro career, this is how Jermall vanquished his rival.

It was an impressive bout as ‘Big’ Charlo showcased the ‘sweet science’ of boxing. Sometimes it’s even better than bagging a devastating knockout.

While Derevyanchenko constantly tried to put pressure on the champion, he was manhandled cleanly with several accurate shots. Charlo had poised the damage on his rival’s face even before the sixth round, and he was hunting for that one perfect shot which would have put Derevyanchenko on the canvas.

Although Charlo missed out on the KO, he landed some massive shots and took the lead on the judges’ scorecard. By that time, Sergiy Derevyanchenko had received a lot of damage and couldn’t offer anything appropriate in response. However, he still didn’t give it up.

While both the 160 pounders went till the last bell, Charlo retained his world title with a lead of 116-112, 117-111, 118-110 on the papers. It was an absolute dogfight between two of the best active middleweights, giving the fans an absolute fight treat.

Meanwhile, a lot of boxers have already praised the middleweight gladiators for putting on a picture-perfect show. Badoujack has hailed Charlo’s technical abilities in the fight, while Andre Berto and Brian Campbell have also turned to social media to praise ‘Big Charlo’ for his sensational thirty-first pro win.
