The multiple-time Grammy award winner has always been a boxing fan. He accompanied Floyd Mayweather in his walk-out for the fight against Canelo Alvarez in 2013 and performed a live song.

That said, Lil Wayne has a new favorite now. He is seemingly a Berlanga fan as he wants a life-size cardboard cutout of the pugilist in his booth.

After Berlanga’s sensational TKO win over Ulises Sierra on December 12, Lil Wayne made the boxer’s day by asking for his cut out. The rapper turned to Twitter and delivered his wish.

The official Twitter handle of Top Rank Boxing instantly reacted to the wish. As per Top Rank’s post, the cut-out is already on the way to Lil Wayne’s studio. They wrote, “Done. It’s on the way.”

Amid all the social media stunts, the move will draw more attention to ‘The Chosen One’ when he sets foot inside the ring next. He will put his clean record at stake with an aim to enter the title ride in the super middleweight division.

Can Edgar Berlanga continue his dominance?

23-year-old Edgar Berlanga is an all-out knockout specialist. He has achieved all 16 wins of his pro career via KO’s.

However, the super middleweight unit is filled with skilled punchers who are capable of handing Berlanga his first defeat. They deserve in-ring respect and possess a legitimate threat to Berlanga’s dominance. But, with a new fan asking for his cut-out, Berlanga knows that he is making the right impression among boxing fans.

Berlanga’s current state puts him at the top of the mix. If he bags a couple of more wins, it will cement his spot in the title ride. Do you think he will continue his prowess in the super middleweight unit?
