Mike Tyson recently sheltered WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo on his HotBoxin podcast and didn’t hesitate to try to indulge him in some heated banter with his contemporaries. Tyson insisted Charlo in picking names for his upcoming boxing plans and hyped up a fight between him and ‘Mexican Monster’ David Benavidez.
Meanwhile, Tyson also pointed at Charlo, calling out Canelo Alvarez for several years. While ‘Hitman’ kept justifying his moves all throughout, ‘Iron’ Mike became honest with his statements. Tyson reflected on how the factor of fear works in the sport of boxing which Jermall Charlo couldn’t deny.

The conversation went like, “Fear is a part of the game you know. If you are not afraid, you are in the wrong business, man. That’s what would have sent us to the greatest heights that we are ever capable of getting without fear.” said Mike Tyson

32-0 as a professional, Jermall Charlo has been aiming at high voltage fights for a long time. He has dominated the middleweight division for years and deserves a career-defining matchup at this point. Well, Canelo Alvarez could have brought him that opportunity.
But the P4P king chose to march towards the 175 lbs division and challenge Dmitry Bivol instead of facing ‘Hitman’. Therefore, Charlo shall not stick to that one particular fight. The 160 lbs roster can offer him several good bouts and the unbeaten champion should rightly accept one of them.
Mike Tyson may have left a perfect option for Jermall Charlo
In boxing, several fantasy fights are yet to happen in all the divisions. The middleweight category is no exception. Hence, Charlo can option from several A-listers in his unit. But Tyson has already pitched Benavidez as a viable opponent, and that is hard to deny.

A fight between David Benavidez and Jermall Charlo will be alluring for the entire fight community. Moreover, it will help us determine who can be a more prominent name for Canelo Alvarez since both men claim themselves to be superior to the other.
