In a conversation with the former Buccaneers star, Mayweather told him the NFL should allow him to play despite his arrest. “They need to let you play in the NFL, man. They need to stop worrying about what you do on the outside. You can get arrested 40 times, 50 times.” He said.

Moreover, he added that Brown’s off-court drama shouldn’t get him banned from the league where he definitely belonged. “Do that got something to do with you catching the ball or what you doing on the field? You’re supposed to be in the NFL.” he added.

Brown was arrested back in 2020 after attacking a moving truck driver. This wasn’t the first time Brown has been arrested with his record showing multiple convictions. This, combined with his antics, made NFL teams hesitant to sign him to a long-term contract despite his talents.

Floyd Mayweather once offered NFL teams $20 million to sign Brown

The friendship between the two athletes was proved after ‘Money’ once offered NFL teams $20 million to sign Brown. Mayweather made an appearance on the pivot podcast where he made this bold claim. “This is for any team that’s watching right now. We’ll make them a deal. If they sign AB, and AB goes through the whole season with no problems at all, then they gotta give us $20 million.” He said. He also added that if Brown failed to perform according to expectations he would offer another $20 million. ‘”But if he mess up, then we gotta give them $20 million. So, if any team wants to match that, reach out to us.” He added.
