Things have not been going so well for the former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua as he has won only once in his last three bouts, losing his last fight against Olexandr Usyk, who now sits at the top of the heavyweight division with Tyson Fury.

However, the British boxer will look to avenge his defeat as he is set to take on Usyk in a rematch on August 20 in Saudi Arabia. Moreover, for the first time in his career, Joshua will come into the fight as an underdog, but this has not affected him, as Josua had a stern warning for the heavyweight champion at the pre-fight press conference.

Joshua warns Usyk

In the pre-fight press conference, Joshua shares his thoughts on how his last defeat has been a motivator for him and how boxing was his second chance at life.

He says, “If I am around someone who is better than me on the night or better in certain aspects, I have to motivate myself and push myself to get better than him and that’s all. And the great thing is that I have got a second chance like what got me into boxing in the first place when I was a youngster I got into a little bit of trouble now and again and you know I was blessed with a second chance and I found boxing and I took it with both hands”

This will not be the first time that Joshua would have to face an opponent in a rematch to regain his titles. The British boxer lost his belts to Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019 in one of the biggest upsets in boxing history, but he managed to get his titles back after beating Ruiz in their rematch.

However, that might not be so simple in the case of Usyk as the Ukrainian boxer is a much tougher opponent and was clearly the better fighter in their first fight, but Joshua is known to make comebacks and is certainly motivated to reclaim his titles in the much-anticipated rematch.
