WBA (Regular) lightweight titleholder, Gervonta Davis, and the WBC interim lightweight champion, Ryan Garcia, are two of the most iconic names in their division. And, according to fans, a showdown between the duo has been one of the most highly anticipated fights in the lightweight division. Davis responded by saying, “You never heard of nobody. No back-in-the-day fighters talk about mental health. I think boxing, people are probably, we need mental health out there. Because you are getting in the ring and fighting. The toughest out there, the whole lot.”
He further added, “People just throwing that. And saying that just to, you know, get out of stuff. Like an excuse. To be honest, we all have mental health.”
Davis also mentioned that boxing involves keeping oneself in control mentally.
Ryan Garcia responds to Davis’ statements
There is no denying that Davis’ remarks did not sit well with Garcia. In fact, he took to social media with a response for the same.

“We all have mental health” First off all you can’t even conjure up a clear sentence. I’ve boxed my whole life fought over 200 times I’d break a long time ago if it was that I was fearful to fight. You simply have never done your research and simply have low IQ. https://t.co/3XaZGD9rTL

Garcia took a dig at Davis and accused him of being unable to articulate properly. Moreover, he mentioned that he has fought over 200 fights and that he would have given up sooner if he was scared to take up fights.
