Bashing Wilder for his remarks, Tommy Fury said, “As a role model, as a world champion you shouldn’t be coming out with excuses like you know, you said your trainer spiked your water. Your trainer has been there since day one. You know Tyson breaking the gloves, but then the State commission are side to him until he goes in the ring.”
He added, “All these excuses they mean nothing, not gonna win his record. He lost the fight and I like Deontay Wilder. I think he is a great fighter, but I think he has ruined his legacy with all the smack talk, You know it’s not comments that a world champion should be coming out with. He has been a world champion, just try and come again. You don’t need to say all these things to make in your head to feel better about the loss. You can’t do that, and that’s how it was.”
