However, Tyson made a seemingly strange comparison between being a fighter and a comedian. In an episode of his podcast Hotboxin along with comedian and Ghostbusters actress Leslie Jones, Tyson claimed that being a comedian, and a fighter were similar in many aspects. He stated that to become a successful comic, one had to practice and be disciplined just like a fighter. ” Being a comedian is like being a fighter. It’s like you gotta look in that mirror and analyze yourself in the mirror and see what you have in you do jour jokes and do your sh*t,” said Tyson.

After hearing this, Jones agreed with Iron Mike, giving a perfect example of how Tyson had to fight to make his mark. She stated that he had to fight regularly and beat a plethora of opponents before the world recognized his talents. “I’ll tell you, I’ll give you one that you said you’ve said this and it was so beautiful. You had to fight damn near 5000 fights before a motherf****r knew you was Tyson. It’s the same with comedy. I can’t even count how many sets I’ve done.” She said.

It certainly is hard to achieve success in anything in this world. This was what made this strange, comparison apt. On the surface, a comedian and a fighter look like polar opposites. However, the journey to achieve success requires hard work and dedication.
