A boxing manager plays a pivotal role in assisting a professional boxer in his career. Recently, it was reported by Boxing Scene that the welterweight champion, Errol Spence Jr., had brought an old friend on board as his manager. This revelation comes a few weeks ahead of his fight against Terrance Crawford. The boxer is now linked with Adrian Clark, the CEO of Fighters First Management who signed an agreement with Spence. The word spread through the boxing world and Oscar De La Hoya was quick to react.

He congratulated Spence on his new management on Twitter. However, Spence responded by stating that he is solely managed by Al Haymon and there is no new manager onboard. Haymon is a notable figure in the boxing world; Floyd Mayweather, Deontay Wilder, and Adrien Broner are just a few boxers he has promoted over the years. However, Spence’s response was perceived to be questionable by many fans.

Fans question Errol Spence Jr’s denial of having a new manager on board

However, Spence was quick to clear the air. He responded by stating, Chill only person managing my boxing career is Al haymon”

However, the fans were not buying it. One fan is of the opinion that the boxer should be booking a lot more fights: “the dude wasting away your prime years.. you should be stacking millions upon millions , fight after fight. 1 payday a year is not better than 2 or 3 per year.”

For the longest time, Al Haymon was labeled an “advisor” but in Spence’s response, he refers to him as a manager. One fan noticed and stated, “Oh so he is a manager? Y’all done using that advisor lie?”

On similar lines, one fan finds it unusual for Spence to make that claim: “Clearly that’s not true . You have new management”

Lastly, one fan applauds the boxer for being so loyal to Al Haymon over the years.: “That Al Haymon loyalty is different fr”
