Boxing legend Evander Holyfield had some interesting advice for Will Smith after a reporter took shots at the Oscar-winning actor. Smith made headlines in 2022 after slapping comedian and host Chris Rock at the 22nd Academy Awards this year.

This led to him becoming one of the most talked about celebrities in 2022, coming second in the list of the most searched people this year. However, the four-time world heavyweight champion shared some of his wisdom when asked about Smith.

Evander Holyfield has a message for Will Smith

In an interview with ES news, a reporter brought up the time Holyfield made an appearance on The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, a show starring Smith. The reporter then proceeded to take a dig at the Men In Black star. He claimed that ‘The Real Deal’ should have taught him how to throw a punch.

“You should have told him how to punch,” said the reporter.

Following this, Holyfield responded with a message indirectly telling him not to box.

“Well you know, he’s a different type of artist,” said Holyfield. The reporter then doubled down, stating that despite not being a boxer, Smith played the role of Muhammad Ali in his biopic.

The former heavyweight champion appeared on a Christmas episode of the show. Moreover, in the show, the fans first got to hear his voice after Smith interacted with Holyfield on a phone call while Holyfield complained about the lights at Smith’s party. Infuriated by this, Smith then sparks an altercation with him on the phone, asking the champ to face him if he had any problems.

“You got a problem with my lights. Why don’t you come to tell me that to my face then? We can do whatever you want to do, sure, wild squirrel.” said Smith on the show.

However, this would come true as Holyfield then enters the house and confronts Smith, who was visibly shocked after finding out it was Holyfield who he challenged. Smith would then lie to get out of this situation and was pushed into a safe corner before the champ threw his punch.
