The UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, is doing everything to get a fight with Canelo Alvarez. After many failed attempts of provoking the pound-for-pound king, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ finally called boxing a ‘dying’ sport. However, it did not sit well with the boxing fraternity and the Showtime Sports Executive, Stephen Espinoza, ripped off Usman for making such a remark.
If you were receiving a fair share of revenues, you wouldn't be embarrassingly stalking @Canelo on social media. You're an accompliahed UFC champion, yet you're begging to participate in what you call a"dying" sport? Why? Because that "dying" sport pays way more $ than your own. https://t.co/CDeS7D0j2D

In a reply to Usman, Espinoza wrote, “If you were receiving a fair share of revenues, you wouldn’t be embarrassingly stalking @Canelo on social media. You’re an accomplished UFC champion, yet you’re begging to participate in what you call a“dying” sport? Why? Because that “dying” sport pays way more $ than your own.”
Interestingly, the 34-year cage warrior wanted to have an exciting boxing matchup with Canelo Alvarez, similar to Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor’s fight. However, Canelo did not consider Usman worthy of an opponent.
He is of the opinion that the UFC champion is creating hype just to get a big payday.

However, the recent exchange between the two on social media platforms has again ignited the talks of a rumble between the two.
The ongoing beef between Canelo Alvarez and Kamaru Usman
Kamaru Usman sowed the seed of a probable showdown between him and Canelo Alvarez a few months back. Since then, the pair has gone to-and-forth several times. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ seemed more desperate to fight Canelo, and the latter rejected it, showing no interest.
