Exhibition/celebrity fights have changed the boxing space forever. A few years back, no one expected this trend to turn into a revolution. Not only that, but many boxing icons and retired stars remained in sync with exhibition fights. In that list, the GOAT Floyd Mayweather ranks at the top for obvious reasons.
Signing off from pro-boxing in 2017, Mayweather keeps himself active with exhibition fights. And last year, he ended up squaring off with YouTuber turned boxer, Logan Paul.
Citing that, Gary Russell Jr. recently went after ‘TBE’ for his performance in this fight.

Speaking to Brian Custer, he added, “I was just pissed that Floyd made the fight look f**king competitive. He’s not a fighter. You’re supposed to be a legend in the sport of boxing, granted.”
“You are up in age. You know I get that, you know. And you’ve never been a knockout puncher type of guy. But beat his a**. You know I’m saying, please make it clear that he doesn’t belong in this s**t.”
Mayweather was expected to vanquish Logan Paul in just two or three rounds of the fight. However, Paul turned out to be a competitive opponent for the ‘Pretty Boy’. Also, ‘The Maverick’s lanky physique proved to be a turning point in the fight as Mayweather faced difficulties in reaching his chin.
In all, the fight surprisingly went the distance, and Logan Paul ended up with a commendable draw in the fight. With that, Mayweather was on the receiving end of a huge backlash coming from fans and purists of the sport.
