If there is one thing that former five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr, likes as much as boxing, it’s making money. And there is seldom any argument about his befitting ‘Money’ nomenclature. Mayweather recently kicked up a storm against the organizers of an event over the non-payment of dues. However, the King of the Zulu Nation, who mandated the event, has now come in support of the organizers and event.

Mayweather was scheduled to be in attendance at the highly publicized King MisuZulu International Boxing Tournament, taking place in Durban. But, he recently announced that he will be backing out of the event. Moreover, he also went on to accuse the promotional company J4Joy and its CEO, Arnold Nododile, of not paying him.

Meanwhile, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, the ruling monarch of the Zulu Nation, extended his support to Nododile and the event.

King Misuzulu talks about inviting Floyd Mayweather

King Misuzulu recently released a statement talking about the event. It is worth noting that this statement was co-signed by Arnold Nodidile. And also gave the event his seal of approval.

Talking about the same, he said, “I mandated J4Joy to invite the legendary boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather as my guest of honor. So that he can share in my father’s vision. And also help with creating an environment where our youth can learn to be solid leaders within communities.”

However, he did not delve into the non-payment controversy involving Mayweather.

Mayweather’s lawyer sends a letter to the organizer

Johannesburg-based attorney, David Feinburg, who represents The Money Team, had sent Nododile a letter regarding the non-payment of dues. He said, “You have breached the agreement in a number of respects. Most notably by failing to pay our client the agreed fee for his attendance at the event. Which was due, owing. And payable to our client over a month ago.”

Additionally, Feinburg also mentioned that the organizers used Mayweather’s image for promotions without his permission.
