Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has been the face of boxing for over a decade. During his career, ‘Money’ was one of the most financially successful boxers in the world, which the former 5-division champ only carried over after his retirement. Mayweather’s financial success can be attributed to his in-ring purses and his investments outside the ring.

This was on full display after he revealed that he owned buildings worth over a billion dollars, back in 2020. He stated that he was doing very well financially and was making investments in various sectors, including real estate and tech. “I’m well off every property that I have is paid for. My jet is paid for, all my cars are paid for, and I own billion dollars, billion-dollar buildings. I own so much property and I’m steady investing in different things. I’m invested in the tech world, I made a lot of smart investments,” Mayweather said.

Mayweather’s property ownership compared to Aaron Rodgers’ investment

Professional athletes often take their career earnings and invest that money into different ventures. This includes NFL superstar, Aaron Rodgers, who reportedly owns one percent of the 2021 NBA champions, the Milwaukee Bucks. Rodgers got a minority stake in the NBA franchise, after passing the standard vetting process for all potential owners by the NBA. Moreover, he met all the criteria and assumed his share of ownership just before the start of the 2017-’18 NBA season. The Bucks are valued at $1.9 billion, which makes the Green Bay Packers star’s share worth $190 million.

However, this pales in comparison to Mayweather’s real estate investment, which according to him is worth billions. ‘Money’ has been retired from professional boxing but still is miles ahead of his counterparts in terms of successful business investments.
