Floyd Mayweather has been retired from professional boxing since 2017. However, he is still active in the ring competing in exhibition bouts against MMA fighters and lower-level opponents. This has caused many to speculate whether if the former 5-division champ is tarnishing his legacy by competing against this type of competition.

YouTube sensation Jake Paul certainly thinks so as he and his co-hosts had an interesting take on Mayweather’s exhibition bouts. In the latest episode of his sports show B/S with Jake Paul co-host D-Cut and Paul’s girlfriend Julia Rose called out Money for his exhibition fights. However, Rose wanted to know how Mayweather’s exhibition would compare if athletes like Tom Brady wanted to replicate Mayweather’s approach in their sport. D-Cut then stated that it would be like Tom Brady playing ‘black football’. “It’s like that’s like Tom Brady go and playing black football,” said D-Cut

Moreover, D-Cut also claimed that Mayweather was tarnishing his legacy by competing in such matches. He stated that Money had worked so hard to build up his legacy and defeating the toughest opponents only to now compete against low-level competition. “Floyd out here trying to knock n***s head of his a*s and that’s kinda like tarnishing his. It’s like kinda weak, it’s like you got this whole. You built up this whole you know you beat the greats you beat out Oscar De La Hoya you beat all these big names and now you fighting motherf****ng kindergarten Super Smash Brother characters and s**t.” he said.

D-Cut is certainly of the mind that Mayweather should retire from the sport instead of competing in exhibitions. However, ‘Money’ has no plan of retiring altogether as he will compete in another exhibition bout against British Youtuber Deji.

Floyd Mayweather set to compete in his next exhibition bout

Mayweather’s exhibition tour will continue as he will face YouTuber Deji in November. The bout will take place at the Coca-Cola arena in Dubai on November 13th. Although talks of the bout have been circulated, it was confirmed following Mayweather’s victory in Japan. “I am delighted to bring this incredible boxing experience to Dubai. Global Titans will give fans an unrivaled boxing match with a huge undercard. It is an honor to be a part of such an iconic event in an iconic city, and I would like to thank the Global Titans team for reaching out to me and giving back so much to the sport I love.” Mayweather said in the post-fight interview.
