What Did “Close Friend” Tom Brady Say to Floyd Mayweather Before Conor McGregor Fight?

Floyd Mayweather and Tom Brady are two of the greatest athletes in their respective sports and have accomplished feats that are unmatched by their contemporaries. Moreover, it seems like the two are very close friends,  according to ‘Money’.

In an interview with ESPN, Mayweather claimed that the six time super bowl champion is a ‘close friend’ and also praised Brady.”That’s a close friend of mine, Tom Brady’s a very, very close friend. An unbelievable guy with unbelievable talent.” He told the reporter.

Furthermore, he also states that Bardy texted him before the Conor McGregor fight to check if everything’s good and also said that he texted him back asking about Brady’s family, “He actually texted me yesterday…We have a cool friendship. He texted and asked me ‘How’s everything going?’ And I texted him back, ‘Everything is cool. How are you doing? How’s the family?’ He said, ‘Everything is going A-OK”. Mayweather added.

Mayweather will be back in action after his previous exhibition match against former sparring partner Don Moore. Money will be returning to Japan after four years of beating Japanese kick boxer Tenshin Nasukawa back in 2018. He will face off against the MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura in an exhibition bout. The fight will be co-promoted by Japanese promotion RIZIN, however the details and rules of this fight are yet to be released. It was reported that ‘Money’ made almost $88 million against Nasukawa and would look to get a similar payday for this fight as well.

Although Mayweather retired from boxing almost six years ago, he has competed in a lot of exhibition fights. Along with the ones mentioned above, he has also had an exhibition bout with Youtuber turned boxer, Logan Paul, back in 2021. Even at 45 years of age, the boxing legend is still competing in the squared circle and has shown no signs of fully retiring from sport yet.
