Tyson Fury is widely regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. However, in recent times, he has been subject to criticism. That is because of some of his comments outside of the ring and his recent performance against Francis Ngannou wherein he looked quite vulnerable in certain aspects. In any case, he continues to be the WBC world heavyweight champion of the world and is soon set to face Oleksandr Usyk.
The fight, which is just a month away, has already prompted fans to make their predictions. Amidst this anticipation, a renowned boxing promoter shares insights on Fury as a fighter, his contributions to the sport, and his upcoming match. That is not all, the man has even dragged Anthony Joshua into the debate.

According to Kalle Sauerland, a boxing promoter and co-founder of Misfits Boxing along with KSI, Fury has been on top of the food chain since 2015 when he defeated Wladimir Klitschko. At the same time, he made it a point to mention other fighters, especially Anthony Joshua who have made a name for themselves in the sport. However, he continued to assert that, despite the ‘Gypsy King’s underwhelming performances, he still towers over all the other boxers in the division.
Reflecting on the same, he stated, “Tyson for me, until he is beaten, he’s the king of the Heavyweights… I don’t know how to define that but he is the person to beat since he beat Klitschko. Not even after his comeback… He is the man to beat in heavyweight, end of story.” While giving due credit to AJ, he said, “That’s not saying anything against all the other great heavyweight fighters… AJ, what a job he’s done for boxing, full stop, especially in the UK.”

In addition, he also predicted that in his upcoming fight, the WBC heavyweight champion would be able to defeat Usyk. “The man to beat at heavyweight is Tyson Fury and on February 17th We’re going to find out, I think Fury wins,” he added.
It appears that Sauerland is quite a fan of Fury and has addressed certain criticism around him off late by saying that those are just instances of “off-nights.” Reflecting along similar lines, another notable personality made a startling claim about it.

Fury cannot afford another off-night
Unlike his last bout, this fight against the Ukrainian champion would be for his title. Not to mention, his undefeated record and his glory are on the line. Needless to say, the British boxer needs to bring his A game. In a recent interview, Mark Tibbs, a seasoned boxing trainer who once trained Dillian Whyte asserted that Fury must take cognisance of that. He said, “Fury cannot afford to take this lightly like he took to Ngannou. He can’t do that with Usyk.”
