A prime example of this sportsmanship was seen when boxing legend Floyd Mayweather backed tennis icon, Serena Williams, during a tough period in her life.

Aiming to hold all four major titles in one year for the first time since 1998, Serena Williams was attempting to create history. While she was on her quest for greatness, Floyd Mayweather had some motivating words for Williams. As per ‘skysports’, Mayweather stated, “I’m very pleased with Serena Williams. They say records are made to be broken.”

He further added, “I’m just very proud of her and what she’s done during her career. She’s done some amazing things in her career. It’s just marvelous what she did. I’m behind her 100%. If she stays focused, she can continue to break records.”

Undoubtedly, Mayweather and Williams have excelled beyond many world champions and made a name for themselves like no other. Both have a long list of achievements and have been setting new standards throughout their distinguished careers. The coming of these two greats, especially at a time when one needed it the most, is a graceful reminder of what sports is all about.

When Serena Williams trained with Mike Tyson 

Back in the day, Mike Tyson posted a video on Twitter where he was seen training with the American legend. The two met at the Florida Mouratoglou Preseason in 2019. 

The video shows Williams landing some strong punches on the bag. Even the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ was shocked at the tennis player’s sheer punching power. He captioned his post, “Wouldn’t want to get in the ring with this GOAT @serenawilliams.”

The tennis superstar has often received a lot of support and admiration from the boxing industry; particularly from Mayweather and Tyson.
