The lions of the UFC will return yet again to assert the title of the stronger fighter but in a boxing ring this time. The last time the fans witnessed the war between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal, it wasn’t a pretty sight as the fight had to be called off due to the severity of Nate’s injury. This time, they’re both returning to finish the feud once and for all, without any interruptions.
Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal went against each other in the UFC’s 500th live event, UFC 244. The fight took place on November 2, 2019, at Madison Square Garden and the winning stake included the BMF belt, which stands for “baddest motherf****r.” The BMF belt was awarded to Masvidal after Diaz endured a deep cut to the eyebrow. And now, they will engage in a boxing match but you can be assured that the gloves will be off, metaphorically.

The last time these legends went head-to-head, the match had to be halted by the ringside physician due to a deep cut on Nate’s eye, which ultimately led to him getting 25 stitches. Masvidal won the match in the fourth round but many fans claimed that it was just a stroke of luck for the striker. Now, Masvidal will want to prove the haters wrong but it will be inside of a boxing ring rather than the octagon. With all that said, here’s what Masvidal had to say about him taking on Diaz after almost 5 years.
Jorge Masvidal’s brutal words for Nate Diaz ahead of the June 1 fight
Masvidal has without a doubt, been severely frustrated with the outcome of the UFC 244 fight. The world has mocked him for winning a fight that wasn’t meant to go his way and as such, Masvidal has some dues to clear and a reputation to live up to. In response to his fight against Diaz that will take place in Inglewood, these were some strong feelings on Masvidal’s part.

Masvidal said, “Nate’s a dead man walking. I can’t wait to prove that last time was no fluke. He got saved by the referee. Now we are boxing, which he says is his forte, but he’s got no shot at beating me. I’m not going to give him an inch in that ring to even breathe. If he thought our MMA match was bad, this is going to be much worse. I’m going to drown him.” It looks like Masvidal is out for blood against Diaz and come June 1, all unanswered questions will be put to rest.
