UFC superstar Conor McGregor has been away from the sport for around a year, but it appears that he is getting set to make a striking return. It has been 5 years since the world witnessed one of the greatest boxing matches of this generation. Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor squared off inside the ring on August 26th, 2017, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It was a spectacular battle between the two titans, and it really lived up to fans’ expectations. Interestingly, the Irishman has recently hinted toward his boxing return.

Conor McGregor took to Instagram and added a post to his story, which was shared by one of his trainers, Raj Vrinceanu. The picture is from the magnanimous showdown between McGregor and Mayweather in 2017. The UFC star added it to his story and wrote, “Tick tock”.

This has certainly made fans go wild, as their favorite fighter may finally step back to fight again. The 34-year-old has been inactive in the sport lately, due to his leg injury. However, now the champ seems recovered and fit to smash opponents again.

The biggest UFC fighter and the biggest boxer inside the squared circle? What else could fans wish for? The first fight between the two is considered one of the most lucrative fights in the annals of combat sports. In the end, as many fans had predicted, “Money” triumphed over the Irishman and finished his career with a 50-0 record.

Furthermore, the first showdown clearly hinted that there needs to be a rematch. As per the reports, the American boxer offered around $130 million to McGregor for a rematch. Moreover, a source told TheSun, “Conor will only take the fight providing Floyd is willing to put his professional record on the line – so the fight will not be an exhibition, it will be an official fight. It will be at 155lb. That’s what we know so far. It will be the last time Floyd ever steps in the ring, so it is not one to miss. The deal is very close to being done. Personal terms have been agreed on both parties.”
