On Saturday, June 18, 2022, the epitome of both worlds went toe to toe with each other. However, the former promotion of Floyd Mayweather, Top Rank came out victorious against Dana White’s UFC.
The UFC Fight Night: Calvin Kattar vs Josh Emmett clashed with the unified light heavyweight title fight between Top Rank fighters Artur Beterbiev and Joe Smith Jr.

Floyd Mayweather’s former promotion ranks higher than UFC
Bob Arum’s Top Rank promotion houses some of the best fighters currently active, like Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson. It also represented boxing legends like Muhammad Ali, Manny Pacquiao, and Floyd Mayweather.
Top Rank was first and UFC was second in cable ratings on Saturday. It’s more proof if you give people good fights, they’ll watch. Demographics were very strong for both, too.

The promotion company had their highly anticipated fight between Beterbiev and Smith clash with Dana White’s huge UFC fight between Kattar and Emmett. However, according to MMA and boxing journalist Kevin Lole, Top Rank was at the top of the cable ratings on Saturday followed by UFC.

Floyd Mayweather’s history with Top Rank
The five-division champion Floyd Mayweather began his journey in the sport of boxing under Top Rank promotions in 1996. Following his debut win, Mayweather went on to be the face of boxing as a Top Rank fighter. Soon enough, he became a world champion.

However, things didn’t always sail so smoothly. Mayweather realized that he could make more profits by hosting his own fights and he was better off leaving Top Rank promotions. Hence, after a decade, in 2006, Mayweather parted ways with Bob Arum’s team and started his own promotion house called ‘Mayweather Promotions’.
