Last Sunday, the WBO cruiserweight champion, Lawrence Okolie, took up the ring space to defend his throne against Michal Cieslak at the O2 Arena in Greenwich. Fans in the arena turned up in large numbers to support Okolie for this fight. But Anthony Joshua and Israel Adesanya’s involvement in Okolie’s walkout just lit up the entire atmosphere.

Joshua recently spilled the beans on this iconic walkout with ‘The Last Stylebender’.

“You know, it was just something about iconic. You know strength for numbers, strength for numbers, it’s a lot of pressure on the fighter as well when you want to do things like that because you have to win, that’s the main focus but us, three coming out shows unity, shows strength, collectiveness, it’s important”

In this walkout, ‘AJ’ held Okolie’s WBO title. Whereas, Adesanya had the Nigerian flag with him. The vibe was electric and Okolie seemed confident with his friends escorting him to the ring.

Will there be more of Anthony Joshua and Israel Adesanya’s walkouts in the future?

Anthony Joshua has a mammoth fight in contention for 2022, i.e. a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. His entire career relies on this collision, and ‘AJ’ is deeply engrossed in preparations for the same.

This fight will be a high-voltage encounter, and just like the Briton walked alongside Adesanya for Okolie, fans can expect something similar in his outing, too.
