Conor McGregor Reveals New Condition for Potential Rematch With Floyd Mayweather

It’s been 5 years since Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather fought each other in one of the most bizarre and successful events in boxing history. And now, it seems that the pair are ready to make history once again as talks for a potential rematch are making rounds on the internet.

According to a report by The Irish Mirror, the pair are in talks for a sequel of their first fight with the deal very close to being finalized. However, McGregor has proposed that he will only go ahead with this fight if it takes place at 155-pounds with Mayweather’s undefeated record of 50-0 on the line, according to a source from The Sun.

Conor will only take the fight providing Floyd is willing to put his professional record on the line – so the fight will not be an exhibition, it will be an official fight. It will be at 155lb. That’s what we know so far.” a source told The Sun.

This proposal by McGregor might be asking Mayweather to put too much on the line, especially his coveted 50-0 record, which has become synonymous with him. It is hard to see Money agreeing to these terms and if the fight goes ahead, he will look to turn this fight into an exhibition bout.

UFC president Dana White has come out and shut down the rumors regarding the rematch between Mayweather and McGregor. In an interview for the upcoming UFC 277 event, White was asked about the rumors regarding the rematch to which he responded by claiming that it was “All b*****it” and that McGregor’s next fight will take place in the octagon.

This has come as a surprise to many, as White was a major presence in their first fight co-promoting the event alongside Mayweather Promotions. However, McGregor is currently signed with the UFC, and unless White agrees to let the Irishman leave before his contract expires, the fight might not go through.
