People ask me if kickboxing ever made me rich, the most I got paid for a fight was $100,000 which sounds like a lot of money.” However, he then added that this was not the case as he had to give the people working with him their share of the paycheck.”In the grand scheme of things, it’s not a lot of money you have to pay your manager 20%, 10% out for various fees, and your only fight twice a year, and you gotta pay your rent.”

Further, he revealed that the majority of kickboxers do not end up with a lot of money and how Israel Adesanya has managed to earn more, “most kickboxers are broke or stay broke you can transition into the UFC like the Style Bender. In general, kickboxing will not make you rich.” said Tate.

It seems like kickboxing is not a profession as lucrative as MMA, according to Tate, who was a kickboxer himself. This statement by Tate does hold some weight, as we have seen many kickboxers transition in MMA, like Adesanya, to make a better living.
