IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois’ bombastic knockout win over former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua was a pretty big deal. So much so that the topic seems to have made it to the UFC and its chairman, Dana White. While speaking to a bunch of reporters during White’s Contender Series 73 press conference, he shared his take.
It’s also worth noting that Dana White has hinted at his involvement in boxing promotion, backed by significant investments from His Excellency Turki Alalshikh. Announcements regarding this venture are expected to begin in early 2025. Regardless, reacting to what Dubois had done to Joshua last weekend at Wembley, White found himself with a lack of words.
Just a refresher: ‘DDD’ dropped the two-time heavyweight champion four times during the fight en route to a spectacular knockout win in the fifth round of the fight. All this, after the entire boxing community had written him off—a significant achievement, without a doubt. However, coming back to the point, White said, “You get two big heavyweights in there, f**king anything can happen, man.”

As he tried to conjure up some words to say, Dana White said, “I mean, I’m not invested either way, whatsoever in it. I can say this the Warrens lifted their exclusivity for me to put that fight on Friday night. Good things happen to good people. I guess, I’ll say that.”
Interestingly, UFC 306 was in direct competition with the Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga fight, which Dana White was not a big fan of. So, the Anthony Joshua–Daniel Dubois fight unfolding without any competition to any of his events was a relief for him. Meanwhile, White isn’t the only one in the media spotlight regarding the Joshua-Dubois fight.

Conor McGregor branded ‘dou***bag’ for behavior at Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois fight
Seated in the front row at Wembley Stadium, Conor McGregor was visibly animated each time Joshua hit the canvas, prompting criticism from UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping. “Conor, you would’ve thought he was a big Daniel Dubois fan,” Bisping said during his podcast. He also added that McGregor’s unlit cigar and outfit made him look like a “dou***bag.”

What’s your perspective on:
Did Anthony Joshua's loss to Dubois expose his weaknesses, or was it just a bad night?
Have an interesting take?
While many found McGregor’s antics during the fight sort of amusing, others weren’t having any of it. Even Bisping’s co-host, Anthony Smith, didn’t seem too pleased with McGregor’s behavior during the fight. He questioned, “How much money [do] you have to have to start doing weird, do**hey s**t like that?”
