Dillon Danis may have delivered a forgettable performance in his 2023 boxing match against Logan Paul, but today, he stands as a certified world champion. The former Conor McGregor teammate made quick work of MMA newcomer Warren Spencer last month at Misfits Boxing 22, finishing the fight in just 15 seconds.

With the win, Danis claimed the inaugural Misfits MMA light heavyweight title, despite it being his first MMA appearance since 2019. Wasting no time, he used the spotlight to call out English strongman Eddie Hall, UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, and Misfits co-founder KSI. Regardless, it appears his recent success may have gone straight to his head.

Dillon Danis asks people to be thankful that they can witness his greatness
Earlier today, the 32-year-old shared a picture of himself at the gym, accompanied by a lengthy caption that painted an inflated picture of his accomplishments. “In only my third fight I became world champion and ended it in just 6 seconds,” he wrote. “Six seconds is all it took to prove I’m different. Nobody on this planet has ever seen a fighter like me.”
Danis doubled down in his self-praise, adding, “Every morning, thank God you’re alive to witness the Dillon Danis era. This is only the start. I’m the chosen one, and every other fighter is just an extra in my story.” Of course, those bold claims conveniently ignored the fact that his last opponent was a complete novice—and that Danis has yet to win a recognized title against serious competition.

Danis is truly an enigma, in the sense that he has a had a 100% success rate inside the cage. He’s looked good doing what he does in there, but the fact that he’s had more opportunities to speak and build clout, rather than try and get as many fights in, has left the fight world visibly frustrated. This, despite the fact that Danis is an entertaining, albeit divisive figure.
And, unsurprisingly, fans wasted no time tearing him apart in the comments section.
Fans hold up a mirror to Danis
One user didn’t mince words, asking in what world Dillon Danis is a champion. “What world are you the champion of?” The user asked. The post was more likely an effort to farm engagement on social media.
The next user made an interesting comparison. “Misfits world championship is like saying Canadian football league winner is like winning the Super Bowl,” the user wrote. To make matters worse for Danis, Misfits Boxing doesn’t have a sophisticated roster of MMA fighters.
Someone else dismissed Danis’ win over Spencer. “N—a fought someone who doesn’t grapple n suddenly he’s peak 😭😭 I literally called it word for word that it’s gon end first 20 seconds,” the user commented. Spencer has some experience, but nothing to ride home about.
Meanwhile, this user poked fun at Danis’ age. “B—h you pushing 40 and have had 3 fights lmfao,” the user commented. However, Danis is 32.

The next user used a meme to express the absurdity of Danis’ claims. “Sir this is a Wendy’s,” the user wrote. It’s often used to suggest that an argument doesn’t make sense.
Dillon Danis might be a champion now, but it appears fans aren’t quite ready to accept him as one. But what about you?
