Not to mention an extraordinary professional career to back him up. In fact, notable names took to social media to talk about his latest exhibition bout.

Mayweather faced Asakura at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan on September 24, 2022. The champ came into the fight with a legendary unbeaten professional record that elevated him to superstardom. Meanwhile, Asakura also had an impressive MMA career to back him up,

The first round started rather slow. Asakura kept probing Mayweather with jabs. However, he was countered with some rough body shots.

Mayweather also showcased impressive head movement throughout the fight. A testament to the fact that he is still one of the best defensive boxers in the sport.

In the second round, Asakura landed a lunging right hand on Mayweather. This was when a smiling Mayweather went into attack mode. Both fighters exchanged a few shots, with Mayweather’s stellar defense coming to his rescue. However, at the bell Mayweather connected a brutal right at Asakura, sending him to the canvas.

The referee proceeded to stop the fight. And, Mayweather was declared the winner by knockout.

Notable names talk about Floyd Mayweather vs Mikuru Asakura

A lot of notable names were confused about Floyd Mayweather’s KO against Mikuru Asakura. And, a lot of them even took to social media to share their thoughts about the same.

The host of ‘Fighting Words and Clobberin Time,’ Andreas Hale, emphasized Mayweather’s quick win. Moreover, Hale hilariously added that Mayweather left his private jet running to quickly finish the fight.

Meanwhile, singer and songwriter, Chris Hart, congratulated Mayweather on his win. It should be mentioned that Hart had sung the American national anthem at the fight.

Similarly, the CEO of PG sports, Paul Guarino, also commended Mayweather’s KO victory.

On the other hand, writer Calvin Watkins, was disappointed that the fight ended quickly. And, even went on to blame alcohol for feeling so.

Combat sports editor Daniel Yanofsky was surprised by Mayweather’s quick KO win. But, he also mentioned that Asakura was better than Mayweather’s other exhibition opponents. Even mentioning that he was better than Conor McGregor.

However, 2-division undisputed champion, Claressa Shields was not too impressed with the fight. And, even expressed her displeasure about the same.
