Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford’s fight has long been anticipated. It was never successful, though. Not too long ago, the topic had been raised again and received media attention, but to no avail. Boxing fans believed that it will finally happen this time. But regrettably, there haven’t been any official updates. Podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan recently expressed his disdain for the fight not taking place.

Joe Rogan was in conversation with UFC fighter Sean O’Malley, who just came off a fresh victory against Petr Yan at UFC 280. The UFC color commentator chose to continue the discussion by talking about the highly anticipated fight between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr.

Rogan said, “How come we didn’t get Errol Spence vs. Terence Crawford? Why didn’t we get that fight? Like that was supposed to happen, that was in negotiation. With boxing, there’s like certain fights that just don’t get made. And it’s so frustrating.”

He continued by saying that a variety of variables contribute to the lack of a fight not getting materialized. Perhaps, on occasion, the boxers are the ones holding out in negotiations to seek the best possible offer.

Spence (28-0) and Crawford (38-0) are at the top of the welterweight division. Both of them have been leading the way by dominating every other boxer and sweeping the division. But it never progressed to the point where the two faced off inside the ring. The former is the WBC, WBA, and IBF welterweight champion. Crawford, on the other hand, is has the WBO belt right now. Fans have long been anticipating a fight between the two.

Crawford appeared on ‘The MMA Hour’, where he revealed, “I just blame the business of boxing. I don’t blame myself for [even] one portion of the fight not being made. … I felt like I agreed to everything that I needed to agree to. Feel like I’ve done everything I’m supposed to do as an independent fighter to get that fight made. But there’s only so much I can do.”
