One of the scariest boxers ever, Mike Tyson, is a big MMA fan. The former heavyweight champion frequently shows up for the UFC events and often shares his opinion on the sport of MMA. Though ‘Iron’ went the boxing route in his combat sports career, martial arts movies growing up influenced him.
On the ‘MILLION DOLLAZ WORTH OF GAME’ episode 158, ‘Iron Mike’ discussed a variety of topics, including his interest in martial arts movies growing up.

When asked what kind of martial arts movies he watched in his childhood, Tyson said, “The Karate movies.”
Tyson added, “I always loved Jim Kelly. You know why I love Jim Kelly because in real life he’s the way he is in the movie, he don’t talk sh*t, he don’t say sh*t. He never has a conversation. He keeps his mouth shut, same guy no one knows the bottom, nobody knows any kind of rumors about him.”

Jim Kelly was a martial artist and has done several martial arts movies, including the likes of Enter the Dragon, Black Belt Jones, and Three the Hard Way. His portrayal in the movies looked lifelike, as he was a black belt in Karate in real life.

Mike Tyson had early success in boxing. Ever since he stepped foot inside the boxing ring, he terrorized his opponents. His opponents looked defeated before stepping into the ring. With his famous combo, he knocked out multiple of his opponents in seconds and made a ton of money.
However, all this success was not warranted to him. Tyson had to earn it the hard way.
