UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett has lost a few fans after his controversial victory over Jared Gordon last December. Despite the Liverpool native winning the fight on all three judges’ scorecards, many felt that Gordon should have been announced the winner. Moreover, his post-fight interview was criticized as he sounded confident about his win which he barely managed to scrape by.
Paddy ‘The Baddy’ has been on the sidelines ever since then, currently recovering from surgery to reconstruct multiple ligaments. However, it seems that he is ready to face Gordon in a rematch to clear all doubts about his place in the UFC. Pimblett is confident that he can beat Gordon if they were to face each other again, and he believes that his opponent got lucky the first time around.

Paddy Pimblett wants to face Jared Gordon in a rematch post-surgery
In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Pimblett explains why Gordon had a close fight in their first match. He claimed that his ankle was injured, while also taking shots at Gordon’s previous fights.
“He only done well because me ankle was f—ed. You stupid t—t. And he’s just being a bitter little girl, going on every interview site, ‘Oh, I won that fight, I won that fight.’ Well lad, Joe Solecki beat you, but you got a split decision. So, shut your mouth,” he said.
He further declared that he wanted a rematch with Gordon by the end of the year. Moreover, he hoped that Gordon beats his next opponent Bobby Green so that a rematch can be booked. “I want to punch his head in toward the end of the year, I am going to run it back. I hope he beats Bobby Green because I’ll snap his arm for him in a round,” he added.
Despite his intense call-out, the British fighter was called out by Jake Paul’s former teammate and Bellator fighter Anthony Taylor. The now influencer boxer slammed Pimblett for his remakes and also made some interesting comments regarding the relationship between UFC president Dana White and Pimblett.
Anthony Taylor slams Paddy Pimblett for his remarks on Jared Gordon
‘Pretty Boy’ took to Twitter to call ‘The Baddy’ out and make some harsh remarks about his career. He called Pimblett a “coward” who is only gaining his hype due to White supporting him and giving him opportunities not available to other fighters. “Look at this coward! He gets Dana White privilege and we all know why he’s spoon fed!” he wrote.

The accusations of having “Dana White privilege” and being a “coward” leveled against Pimblett have only added fuel to the debate of fairness in the UFC’s matchmaking policies. While some feel certain fighters are given extra privileges, others argue that it is only due to their star power. However, there is no denying that Pimblett is a fighter with a lot of heart and determination. Although his call-out for a rematch with Gordon may have raised some eyebrows, it also shows that ‘The Baddy’ is not the one to back down from a challenge.
