The rivalry between former UFC double champ Conor McGregor and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has not just been limited to the squared circle. While the two have only met once inside the ring back in 2017, the majority of their altercations have taken place outside the ring.

Mayweather beat the UFC star in a close match, getting the finish in the 10th round. However, since then, the two have constantly taken shots at each other online and in interviews as well. In addition, even after 5 years, ‘The Notorious One’ wasn’t shy to take some more jabs at ‘TBE’.

Conor McGregor shares a song dissing Floyd Mayweather

McGregor took to social media and shared a story of a song, dissing Mayweather. Moreover, in the post, a woman can be seen standing alongside a tower of the Irishman’s whiskey company Proper 12, and also holding one of the old UFC title belts.

The song is named after the UFC champion and was composed by P-Holla. The main lyrics that threw shade at Mayweather were the lines, “I got my own money team like I ain’t heard of Mayweather“. This was aimed as a diss to Mayweather’s ‘The Money Team’ which is a major part of his business ventures.

Will McGregor and Mayweather fight in 2023?

Despite Mayweather being retired from boxing, he still competes regularly in exhibition bouts. Moreover, in an interview back in September, he even revealed he was interested in facing McGregor in a boxing match. “We don’t know if it’s going to be an exhibition or a real fight. But there’s been talks of both. I would prefer an exhibition,” said Mayweather.

However, the former UFC champion would dismiss these claims, posting a picture of him and Mayweather with the hashtag- not interested. McGregor was rumored to return back to the Octagon in 2023, which further dims the possibility of a matchup. Moreover, with ‘Money’ now 45 years old, the timeline for a match is quickly passing away.
