Unified light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev secured another victory to add to his unblemished record. The Russian boxer based in Canada beat British boxer Anthony Yarde in a back-and-forth contest evenly matched for the most part. However, later in the fight, Beterbiev took control of the match knocking out his opponent in the eighth round.

The fight was a close and thrilling contest with both men giving it their all to win the match. Moreover, Yarde, who came in as a heavy underdog will certainly see his stock rise up after this performance. For the most part, Yarde, moved forward and created constant pressure on Beterbiev but would eventually succumb to the Russian in the 8th round. The fight also made UFC commentator Joe Rogan speak about it immediately after it took place.

Fans react to Rogan congratulating Beterbiev’s performance

One fan hilariously stated that he didn’t want Beterbiev to fight Jake Paul as he would be handed his first loss by ‘The Problem Child’. “Hope he doesn’t fight Jake Paul. I’d hate for him to have his first loss!” he wrote.

Another fan also wanted him to face Jake Paul and destroy his ego which was oversized. “I’d love to see him fight Jake Paul. Then we wouldn’t be subjected to Jake’s oversized ego anymore,” he wrote.

Moreover, one fan even touted it as the best fight he’d seen in years. He also congratulated Yarde for his effort and stated that Bivol might have a problem with Beterbiev. “Best boxing I’ve seen for years. Yarde can hold his head high. Bivol has a problem but he is a problem! Look forward to it!” he wrote.

A fan also called it a great fight. However, they claimed that Bivol would get the victory over Beterbiev in a match. “That was a great fight. I now believe that Bivol beats him,” they wrote.

The fans were excited to see Beterbiev defending his title in a thrilling contest against a tough opponent. Moreover, they even trolled Jake Paul in the process who claimed he would become the light-heavyweight champion in a span of 3 years. Beterbiev on the other hand is now done with his tune-up fights and needs to challenge Bivol for the undisputed title if he wants to cement his legacy as an all-time great in boxing.
