Chael Sonnen claims to have debunked Floyd Mayweather’s fight purses

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Sonnen mentioned that according to a Forbes report, Mayweather earned $250 million in a single fight. However, he stated that this was untrue and it was all just a ploy by Mayweather to gain exposure.

Not only did it not happen, it’s insane, and it was a joke by Floyd and his team to put it out. They had started joking with you,” he said.

Sonnen also claimed that Mayweather’s camp initiated the deception. This was by suggesting that ‘TBE’  carried a bag with five million dollars at all times. Moreover, he added that the reporters bought in on Mayweather’s deception which led to him carrying on with his charade.

They had started telling you that Floyd carries a bag with him at all times that has five million dollars in it, right? They started with that, and you bought it,” he added. However, the most surprising thing for Sonnen was how Forbes published the inflated figures, further cementing the ‘illusion’.

They went with it. The biggest sports reporters in the world went with it. Floyd couldn’t believe he got away with it, so he starts pushing, ‘I may have made 100 million last year.’ Hey, they wrote it down. Forbes reported it. Very well-respected source reported it. It was a joke,” he added.
