YouTube star, Jake Paul, and former two-division UFC champion, Conor McGregor, might have a lot more in common than expected. Both have gained their fame in a very similar fashion by using their talent for promoting themselves. Although the two might not be the best in their respective sports they certainly are the most popular ones.
However, the two aren’t the best of friends either, with the pair constantly taking shots at each other on social media and in interviews. There was also an incident back in 2021 before McGregor’s third fight against Dustin Poirier, where Paul tried to mock ‘The Notorious One’ before his showdown.

Paul spends $100,000 to troll McGregor
‘The Problem Child’ took to Twitter to show off his brand new chain. The chain had a picture of McGregor after his previous loss to The Diamond and was labeled as “Sleepy McGregor”. According to Paul, the chain was reportedly worth $100,000. He also made a video showing his latest purchase.

“Check out my new $100,000 sleepy Conor McGregor chain.” He said showing off his chain. Moreover, he also warned the Irishman to better win the fight or his career might be over and that Paul’s $50 million offer for a fight would also be off the table. “McGregor, you better win tonight, otherwise we’re not going to be able to fight. If you lose, your career is over and that $50 million offer I gave you won’t be on the table anymore,” he added.

This passive motivation by Paul didn’t seem to work too well for McGregor as he lost his fight against Poirier and hasn’t fought in the UFC since then. Meanwhile, Paul is also not having the best of years as he got two of his scheduled fights cancelled, with both opponents pulling out at the last moment.
Jake Paul once offered Conor McGregor $50 million for a fight
Back in 2020, when Paul was at the peak of his boxing popularity, he offered Conor McGregor an astounding $50 million to fight him. He called out McGregor in the video, even trying to dress as The Irishman, and stated that his team had sent a $50 million contract to McGregor.

“My team sent you a $50 million dollar offer this morning, $50 million cash, proof of funds, the biggest fight offer you’ve ever been offered. But you’re scared to fight me, Conor You’re 0-1 as a boxer. I’m 2-0 as a boxer,” he said in the video. This was after Paul was coming fresh off a victory over Nate Robinson. However, McGregor dismissed Paul’s claims and called him a ‘flop’ and ‘nobody’. The fight never took place with each going their separate ways after this.
