UFC commentator Joe Rogan has long been covering the sport of MMA and is one of the sport’s most influential figures. However, he is also quite knowledgeable when it comes to boxing. Being a fan of the sport, the former Fear Factor host does seem to be especially involved with the heavyweight division of boxing.

The most sought division in the sport has some great talents including former champions Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, and current champions Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. Moreover, we have seen Fury and Wilder compete three times in their career with ‘The Gypsy King’ beating his rival on two occasions. However, Rogan thinks that if Fury was not competing in the sport there is no heavyweight alive who could beat ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

Joe Rogan makes a bold take on Deontay Wilder’s power

In a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan stated that he believes Wilder is capable of beating any heavyweight boxer in the world, with the exception of Tyson Fury. According to him, the former Olympian’s power is too much for the other heavyweights to handle.

Wilder nukes everybody, if it wasn’t for Tyson Fury like who knows Wilder might have beaten the rest of them. He might nuke them all. Tyson Fury’s got his number though.” said Rogan.

The only man to have beaten Wilder in his professional career is indeed Fury, thus this statement has some truth to it. However, ‘The Bronze Bomber has not yet faced the likes of Joshua, or current interim champion Joe Joyce. Despite this, it is hard to deny Wilder’s power and capabilities as a knockout artist.

Rogan touts Wilder as the most impressive knockout artist in heavyweight history

Although there have been many KO artists like Mike Tyson and George Foreman in the past, Rogan thinks Wilder trumps them all. The UFC commentator claimed that Wilder was the ‘most impressive knockout artist’ in the sport after he beat Robert Helenius via a first-round KO.

The Bronze Bomber is somewhat considered to be an anomaly in the sport. While he does lack in technique compared to other boxers, he more than makes up for it in power.

Moreover, this only proves, that there is room in the sport for fighters of all styles and approaches and that a diversity of talent and skill is what makes the sport so exciting to watch.
