The electrifying match between Canelo Alvarez and Floyd Mayweather from 2013 is still brought up in conversations. Recently, popular stand-up comedian Brian Simpson was invited as a guest at ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’. The conversation between Rogan and Simpson turned to who would triumph in an Alvarez-Mayweather rematch. The guest stated, “He(Floyd Mayweather) fought young Canelo, not maybe knock Canelo now. But I still believe he would beat him.”

Rogan replied, “I think so too. its hard now because Canelo’s a tank now, he is so big. You would have to get him down to manageable weight. He was 152 when he fought Floyd. Floyd was very smart, he made him cut below the 154 limit. Because he knew he struggled even to get to 154. So Floyd made him cut extra two pounds. It was very sneaky.”

Apparently, Rogan and his guest feel that Mayweather would beat the Mexican king even now. Well, we cannot tell who would win, as both the combatants are the greatest of their time. But it would be a delight to watch them fight. 

Canelo Alvarez will face his formidable rival in a forthcoming fight

The rivalry between Saul Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin has been going on for years. The two have met each other inside the ring twice before. The first fight ended up being a controversial draw. Furthermore, the second fight was also a close decision, and the Mexican was announced the winner.

Currently, both the combatants are training to settle scores for their upcoming trilogy on September 17. The fight has already gained the world’s attention and fans are going wild about it. Unfortunately, Alvarez recently faced the second defeat of his career against Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol.
