YouTube sensation Jake Paul proved that he belonged in the ring after beating Anderson Silva in their boxing match. However, the event was marred by controversy as former UFC welterweight contender Nate Diaz got into an altercation with one of Paul’s team members.

Following one of Diaz’s teammate Chris Avila’s dominant decision win over YouTube star Dr. Mike Varshavski, the Stockton native got into an altercation backstage as a skirmish broke out. A video was released showing Diaz slapping a member of Paul’s camp and the video went viral on social media.

Moreover, the fans were also quick to react to the altercation as they called out Diaz for his unprofessional behavior.

One fan was amazed that Diaz could slap someone in public without suffering any consequences. He also compared Diaz to Conor McGregor, who is notorious for his public altercations.

Another fan stated that Diaz was doing everything he could to stay relevant in the sport.

One fan hilariously claimed that Diaz was smart in slapping the person, as it was illegal to punch him.

Moreover, a fan stated that nobody wanted to stay near Diaz in fear of him.

However, one fan went as far as hoping that Paul’s team members sued Diaz. He stated that the former UFC veteran needed to be held accountable for his actions.

Another fan claimed that Diaz slapped 2 people on the weekends and 5 on weekdays.

Furthermore, one fan stated that these 15 seconds were better than Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva.

Another fan stated that this was not social media and that getting into a physical altercation with a fighter can be dangerous. He also compared this situation to the time when Mike Tyson physically assaulted a heckler on a plane.

Lastly, a fan thought that while retired MMA fighters do need money, these kinds of antics were showing a desperate look on them.

The fans were not shy to call out Diaz, who has gained a reputation for getting into a lot of physical altercations. However, as the reason behind this is yet to be discovered, it is quite early to judge if the slap was warranted.

Following his impressive victory, Paul was seemingly quick to move to his next opponent. The Problem Child called out Diaz in the post-fight interview, also taking shots at him for the backstage altercation. “Everyone wants that fight. “Nate, stop fighting people for free, let’s do it in the ring.” He said.

With Diaz now a free agent and the added drama of the backstage altercation, a fight between Paul and Diaz is certainly a possibility. Moreover, this will be a great step in completion for Paul looking to make his mark on the sport.
