In the vibrant panorama of boxing, few conversations have stirred up the excitement quite like this recent exchange on “The Joe Rogan Experience.” Podcast host and stand-up comedian Joe Rogan, known for his unfiltered, often controversial commentary, sat down with fellow comedian Ali Siddiq for a chat that zigzagged from the rib-tickling to the outright heart-pounding.
Amidst the laughter and gags, one topic broke away from the pack, making hearts race a little faster: the looming showdown between boxing powerhouses Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford. With Rogan dubbing the fight the “pinnacle” of boxing, the stage is set. However, the discussion took an unexpected turn, throwing light on a concern that might give boxing enthusiasts a moment of pause.

Boxing at its pinnacle: Joe Rogan and Siddiq discuss Spence vs. Crawford
The centerpiece of the conversation was undoubtedly the much-anticipated clash of titans, Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford. The conversation opened with Siddiq’s anticipation for the face-off, stating, “I know this Crawford and Errol Spence is gonna be…”
Rogan, in his characteristic candid style, cut him short, expressing his concerns, “They got, they got that done now. Because I was worried that they were gonna wait for Terence to be older. Cause if it happens two years from now, he’s what, is he 36 now?” The concern for Crawford’s age implied that Rogan feared an uneven playing field if the fight was postponed.
The podcast host’s admiration for the fighters was apparent as he described Crawford as “the slickest switch hitter since Marvin Hagler.” As the conversation progressed, Rogan revealed the impressive records of the contenders, saying, “This is a hell of a fight, 28-0 vs 39-0. That is wild.”
When Siddiq inquired about Rogan’s prediction, he received an intriguing response, “I would never predict a fight like this. Cause a fight like this is to me ‘let’s see’. “ Further emphasizing his anticipation, Rogan expressed his desire to watch the fight unfold, citing, “I wanna see because they both are at the top of the top in boxing today, the pinnacle.”
Rogan’s comparison of Terence Crawford to this legendary figure
In an old episode of ‘Hotboxin with Mike Tyson‘ Rogan began to draw comparisons between Terence Crawford’s fighting style and that of the legendary Marvin Hagler. Hagler, renowned for his switch-hitting ability, was considered one of the best of his time. Rogan drew parallels between Hagler’s ability to masterfully switch between southpaw and orthodox stances, and Crawford’s adept use of the same technique.

“He was southpaw, he was orthodox, he’d go back and forth like the way Terence Crawford does it now like he’s one of the only guys that could really do it at an elite level like amongst like top-flight boxers of today,” said Rogan, praising Crawford’s versatility in the ring.
His co-host, Tyson, agreed with Rogan’s analysis of Hagler’s toughness, which sparked further discussion about the qualities that make a boxer truly legendary. The conversation not only brought to light Crawford’s unique abilities but also paid tribute to the great Marvin Hagler.
