The world of boxing is bracing itself for another explosive clash as YouTuber-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul prepares to step into the ring against MMA superstar Nate Diaz. The two will face each other in August at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. This will be the Stockton native’s boxing debut as he will compete outside the UFC after a long time.

While Jake may have gotten Diaz to compete against him, he was not the only one looking for a boxing match. His brother Logan Paul was also interested in facing the UFC veteran long before his brother took this fight. Moreover, ‘The Problem Child’ even gave ‘The Maverick’ a reality check for thinking he had this fight confirmed.

Jake Paul confronts Logan Paul’s claims

In a recent episode of Logan’s podcast ImPaulsive, he asks Jake how he was able to secure a match with Diaz. According to Logan, he was already in talks with Diaz before negotiations abruptly broke down. “How did you get the Nate Diaz fight? I thought I had it locked up. I thought for sure I had it locked up. How did you get the fight?” he asked. However, Jake would then reveal that this was certainly not the case as Diaz never intended to fight Logan. “You never had it locked up,” said Jake.

Jake reveals why Nate Diaz did not want to fight Logan

Later in the show, the 26-year-old revealed that while Logan thought he had the fight booked, Diaz certainly was not sure about it. Moreover, he added that the former UFC fighter was not happy with certain members of Paul’s team whose names were bleeped out.

I told you he’s playing both sides but like he didn’t. I don’t know if I want to go into it here but basically like some of the people you work, like, you can bleep that out. He doesn’t know what the f**k he’s doing,” he said.
