While Max Holloway called himself the best boxer in the UFC during his fight, he further wanted to test his skills against professional pugilists, including WBO champion Terence Crawford. The Hawaiian recalled his interaction with ‘Bud’ a few months back and teased a possible fight.

According to Holloway, he was present for the Lomachenko vs Lopez event in October. That’s when the UFC star met the boxing champion and the two desired to lock horns somewhere down the line. In the post-fight press conference, ‘Blessed’ Holloway revealed the entire scenario to thrill the combat world.

“I ran into ‘Bud’ Crawford. ‘T-Bud’ I ran into him. The night when Lomachenko fought someone, I forgot who Loma fought, but it was at MSG, and I run into ‘T-Bud’ and T-Bud is like line me up. T-Bud is like what weight you? I was like 145. 145-pound champ and he was like I am the 147 lbs champ and I was like cool, wanna do something about it, you know, like let them know,” said Holloway.

What’s next for Max Holloway?

Following a sensational win against Kattar, we can expect him to earn another title shot against the winner of Alexander Volkanovski vs Brian Ortega. While many consider ‘Blessed’ to have already beaten Volkanovski, the scorecards expressed differently.

That said, Holloway can finally have a shot at regaining his lost featherweight crown. After that, ‘Blessed’ can bag a massive cross-promotion fight by facing Terence Crawford. Akin to Mayweather vs McGregor in 2017, Holloway and Crawford can unleash another such blockbuster event that will be cherished for years to come by the entire combat family.
