

The news of Andy Ruiz Jr. facing Tyrone Spong has been all over the internet immediately after the announcement.
Tyrone Spong has dipped his toes into several combat sports in his career. One such combat sports is kickboxing. In the same vein, let’s look at Spong’s last kickboxing bout where he shattered his leg while kicking the former UFC heavyweight, Gokhan Saki.

Tyrone Spong was following his usual game plan while fighting against Saki. Unfortunately, while hitting a side leg kick, he broke his leg, because of which it was difficult for him to continue.
As a result, he lost via TKO in the 1st round in the last bout of his kickboxing career. However, he continued to fight in different combat sports, like Mixed Martial Arts and professional boxing.

Spong has an MMA record of 4-1-0 in which he fought in two weight categories. Moreover, he is eagerly waiting to have a UFC contract to continue his MMA career apart from boxing.
Apart from kickboxing and MMA, Tyrone Spong has an impressive professional boxing career. He knocked 13 of his opponents out of the 14 he faced. Moreover, he is undefeated (14-0) to date.
Additionally, he held the WBC and WBO Latino heavyweight titles and will now soon fight the former unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr.

After winning his last bout against Chris Arreola, it was a question of who will face the Mexican heavyweight in his upcoming match. Well, now it’s clear that Andy Ruiz Jr. will face Tyrone Spong in his upcoming fight.

According to the reports, the match will happen on July 16, which is just a couple of months away.

Ruiz lost all his titles in his rematch against Anthony Joshua. In the same vein, the Mexican will be hungry to defeat Spong and eventually land another title shot in the near future.
It will be interesting to see ‘The Destroyer’ taking on the undefeated Spong, who has a knockout ratio of 92.86%.
