The 54-year-old ‘Iron’ Mike, who has provided his opinion on Weili’s bout against Rose Namajunas ever since its build-up, backed Rose to win the fight. His prediction came true in a massive way at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. However, before the fight, Zhang Weili, who reacted to Tyson’s comment, expressed her anger over the boxing great.

But Tyson has nothing but respect for the first-ever Chinese UFC champion. In his interaction with Shakur Stevenson on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the knockout elite shared opinion on the matter.

“Who’s that little Chinese girl in MMA, she says she wants to kick my a**. And I said Rose is harsh. I said Rose is harsh because she gotta fight Rose. I like Rose, Rose is hot. I said you are pretty too, I want no trouble,” said Mike Tyson.

Mike Tyson was accompanied by the former UFC two-division champion, Henry Cejudo, in the interaction. Hence, it’s clear how UFC stars have been a prominent part of Tyson’s podcast. As of now, Zhang Weili, who has accepted her loss, will look for a re-match in the future.

However, ‘Thug’ Rose shocked everyone. She landed a fierce head kick that fed Weili to the canvas in the first round. While the American followed it with a few fierce punches, she was a 2X champion in no time. Despite the win, Namajunas has appeared humble and respectful towards her opponent.

Considering the outcome, and the state of the division, a rematch makes absolute sense. And if it happens soon, Weili might have her chance to grab the title back and prove Mike Tyson wrong.
