Anderson Silva made his fortunes through combat sports. His phenomenal command over Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and striking made him one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. However, his journey from the pit to the pinnacle underwent several ups and downs, but during those days the big success stories like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone & Muhammad Ali kept him motivated.

Ahead of his highly anticipated contest, the former UFC middleweight champ took SHOWTIME Sports on a brief tour of his house. While talking to them, he revealed that he is unlike other combat sport stars. Despite spending his money on luxury cars, he is found of toys.

Following this, Silva showed his toy room.

“Come on. Spider-Man. X-Men. The new version of the Ultraman. Arnold, Stallone. [chuckles] G.I. Joes is my favorite because I have for many, many years. When I was eight years old, I start to collect this. My mom starts buying for me. Every month, my mom buys one or two because it’s so expensive in Brazil. I think I have 6,000 figures.”

Silva continued, “I’m a big kid. Ali, Green Arrow, “Ex Machina”. I buy in Japan. I like superheroes because life is tough for a young guy, poor in Brazil, you know? And the superheroes help me to follow my dreams.”

He is so found of these fictional characters that he was nicknamed ‘Spider’.

The upcoming fight for Anderson Silva

Following a contract dispute with the UFC president Dana White, the legendary UFC veteran parted from the organisation in 2020. However, to continue his profession, he turned professional boxer and stepped inside the ring.

As of now, he is booked to take a shot at the American YouTube star Jake Paul. The duo is all set to go head-to-head on October 29 at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
